Changing the display profile in Mac OS X

  1. Click on the Apple menu (The Apple Icon) in the top left corner of the screen and select "System Preferences"
  2. Click on the "Displays" systems preference.
Mac LED Sinema Display Configuration window (Resolution-Rotation)
If you have multiple displays or video output devices connected to the computer, you will see a preference window for each connected display. The displays are identified in the title of each window.
  3. Select the window for the display you would like to adjust and click the Color Tab. The "Display profile:" list should show the currently configured profile.
Mac LED Cinema Display Configuration window (Calibrate)
  4. Uncheck "Show profiles for this display only".
  5. Select a profile that matches the display device. The profiles will adjust the display settings as they are selected. If the display device is not listed, don't be afraid to try any of the profiles.
The following are recommended profiles that should provide acceptable images on most devices:
    1. sRGB
    2. Generic RGB Profile
    3. VGA Display
  6. You can also create a custom profile by clicking on the Calibrate button. Details on this can be found athttp://8help.osu.edu/4368
  7. Once an acceptable profile is selected, close the window and proceed with your work. If the steps outlined above fail to correct your issues please contact 8-HELP or the appropriate support staff.
