Macintosh OS X (Jaguar): Icons on the Title Bar

Under OS X (Jaguar), many programs and all directory windows have an icon that appears to the left of the name in the center of the title bar. This icon can be dragged to a location by pointing to it and clicking on it.
If the icon is a folder, clicking on and dragging it allows the user to move that folder to another disk or folder. If the icon is a document icon, then clicking and dragging it to a desktop, the dock, or a folder creates an alias for that document. You can also use the icon to transfer the document to a different application.
In Mac OS 10.3 and later, the icons in the tool bar of directory windows have been moved into a column to the left of the list of files in the directory. Files and folders can be placed in this column for easy access from any directory window.
