WARNING: Apple's Mail deletes inbox when account settings are deleted.

When an e-mail account is removed from within Mail's settings, a dialog will be displayed, stating:
"Are you sure you want to remove the account xxxx?
This will erase all mailboxes for this account, but will not affect any messages stored on your mail server."
Clicking OK will remove the account and the following mailboxes associated with that account: Inbox, Sent Messages, Drafts, Deleted Messages. Any e-mail in those mailboxes will not be recoverable.
Before removing an OSU account, you must back up the following folder if you wish to save the mail in those folders:
~/Library/Mail/pop-username@pop.service.ohio-state.edu
where username is your OSU Internet Username and ~/ represents the user's home folder in OS X. The home folder is accessible by clicking on the Go menu in the Finder, then selecting Home.
Custom mail folders are not removed when removing an account. These are stored in:
~/Library/Mail/Mailboxes
