Changing Microsoft Office for Macintosh user identity in startup splash screen in Mac OS 8.X thru 9.X

In Mac OS 8.X and 9.X, you can change the user information that appears in the startup or splash screens which appear when you run a Microsoft Office application.

Locate the file "PPC Registration Database" in the Preferences folder inside the System Folder on your hard drive, drag it to the trash and empty the trash.

The system will then ask you to re-enter the information next time you start your computer.
